Mains connected heat alarm comes complete with 9v battery back-up. heat alarms are designed to detect a sudden rise of temperature and fast flaming fires which are commonly caused by kitchen fires. The heat alarm has a thermister sensor that will react to the rate of temperature rise in a kitchen or garage rather than smoke, makingit more resistant to fumes, such as burnt toast which makes it a lot less likely to cause a false alarm.
